2010-2011 Challenges / Bright

December Challenge: BRIGHT

Respond to the monthly themes with topical work in any medium (paintings, drawings, photographs, films, poetry, fiction, non-fiction etc. ). The themes are open to your interpretation.

For the month of December, the theme is BRIGHT.

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.

— Albert Camus

This month, let your invincible summer shine with the Confluence Art Gallery’s December challenge: BRIGHT. As winter officially begins, may your days be merry. Are you traveling to a big city with bright lights? Send us a postcard! Having a staycation in town? In lieu of actual sunlight, create and share some of your own. Bright can be all calm or all flash—the interpretation is up to you. We’re sure you have some bright ideas.

Submissions are open to everyone.  Please send your images to kiac (at) kiac (dot) ca. Digital files only please. Images, text, and links to films can be sent anytime during the month you wish to submit to. Preferences for images: jpegs, about 500 x 500 pixels. Text-based works can be attached as a Word document or sent in the body of an e-mail.  Feel free to accompany submissions with descriptive text or an artist statement. Let us know if you need technical assistance.
