Born and raised in New Brunswick, Rian completed her B.A. in Anthropology and English at Mount Allison University. Seeking a new challenge, she plucked herself from the tidal Tantramar mud in 2009, and tucked herself into the crotch of the Klondike and Yukon Rivers. After completing the foundation year program at the Yukon School of Visual Arts in 2010, Rian remained in the Yukon where she created the Klondike Drawing Company with Aubyn O’Grady in 2011. Rian teaches silkscreening and printmaking workshops for all age groups and experience levels in many different places and facilities, from the Tombstone Park interpretive centre to Dawson City’s waterfront.
